在2021年科研工作统计中，生物与环境工程学院教师科研标志性成果的数量和质量都获得新突破，在核心以上期刊发表科研成果31篇，其中，SCI一区两篇，SCI二区4篇，SCI四区6篇，CSCD类期刊7篇。科学研究方向集中在生物与医药和资源与环境两个重点学科，聚焦植物生长调控、神经系统疾病治疗药物研究、微生物基因组分析、环境生态保护等方面，助力我市生物医药创新发展、加强生态文明建设以及高效助力乡村振兴发展。
生物与环境工程学院围绕学校2023年申硕建设目标任务，紧扣生物医药产业和秦岭生态环境保护开展学科研究，坚持“人才兴院、科研立院”，实现科研反哺教学，积极引导老师发挥个人特长，加强科研团队建设，同时，鼓励教师开展科学研究成果转化，服务地方经济发展，为学校建设特色鲜明的高水平城市大学贡献力量。
